Superhydrophobic Al2O3–Polymer Composite Coating for Self-Cleaning Applications

Superhydrophobic coatings have a huge impact in various applications due to their extreme water-repellent properties. The main novelty of the current research work lies development cheap, stable, superhydrophobic and self-cleaning with water-repellency. In this work, composite hydrothermally synthesized alumina (Al2O3), polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS) polystyrene (PS) was deposited on glass surface by dip-coating technique. Al2O3 nanoparticles form rough structure, low-surface-energy PHMS enhances coating revealed water contact angle (WCA) 171 ± 2° sliding (SA) 3°. chemical analysis, Al2p, Si2p, O1s, C1s elements were detected XPS survey. prepared showed property through rolling action drops.
